Music Video: Sue Scrofa's "I'm Goin' Around" - Under The Radar Magazine

The music video by The Dickheads (Website, Facebook) for "I'm Goin Around" by Sue Scrofa (Website, Facebook) is online. Read the nice write-up by Under The Radar magazine here; video below...

My Dog and I are in this music video:
First frame is us behind the spinning pinwheel, I'm dragging her around...
Then she's got a closeup at 1:04 just after / just at the end of the 1st chorus... Then, she spins in a circle. :)

Just try and get this song's refrain out-of-your-head...Great work, fun day.    ~W.

Vlad's the guy who's done music for many of our Titled Sketch Project videos. His work on our " Battlestar Ga-FRAK-tica " sketch caught the attention & praise of the actual Battlestar Galactica series music composer, Bear McCreary (* See his mention of it here, on Twitter).

Lots of fun doing this "LAW & Order-meets-NIGHT GALLERY" video for FunnyOrDie & T.G.I. Fridays. Great chance to work with Scott Rodgers again from my old I.O. West group ROBERTO ALOMAR plus all the new faces. Thanks again to Ryan Perez at FOD for having me aboard.

By the way, that cake I ate at the end was delicious!

*Very Professional* Online Guitar Instructional Video

I taped this last fall in L.A. for fun: Musician friends might especially appreciate it:

Description from the blog of CarlKingCreative, who produced the video & debuted it online yesterday:

You know those scenes in movies where they cut to the actor’s hands and he can suddenly shred? More often than not, those are this guy’s hands — and now you can learn directly from the man behind the magic.

Will Maier from The Whatevs is the special guest host / instructor today on this free video excerpt from ShredTips.edu — the world’s first online guitar instructional website for Hand Actors. He appears in his first ever wide-shot and demonstrates a few “conceptual” licks that are unlike anything C.C. DeVille could play (watch out for that killer vibrato intonation) — showing the student how to find his own voice on the guitar and make it his own. You’d think it can’t get any better than that “exotic” scale… but from there, Will launches straight into teaching you How To Play A Song For 30 Seconds.

It was announced last week that Michael Bay flew Will in as a consultant for his upcoming remake of Crossroads, in which Megan Fox teams up with herself to play a pair of renegade, lesbian, train-robbing demolition experts… and in this video, you’ll see why.

Play along, if you can!

Will also played the role of Zac Efron’s hands in the upcoming feature called The Sailor’s Predicament, written and directed by Dan Oster. This talented young artist can be contacted through William Morris.

New Film In The Werner Herzog Series Currently On Front Page Of FunnyOrDie.com

The 3rd installment of our "Werner Herzog Eats-The-World" short film series, in which I portray the slightly eccentric and perhaps utterly bizarre German film director Werner Herzog (GRIZZLY MAN, ENCOUNTERS AT THE END OF THE WORLD), has premiered on the front page of FunnyOrDie.COM.

"Speed Dating With Werner Herzog (And Special Guest, Björk)" was filmed last November in Los Angeles on a small budget, and like its two predecessors concerns the adventures of a fictionalized younger incarnation of the award winning filmmaker, based on events and quotations taken from his real life. We follow Werner once again on a search for epic discovery, this time toinvestigate the current manifestation of man's quest for love". Fitting that the short had it's FOD featured debut on Valentine's Day.

Also available on YOUTUBE as of yesterday.

Thanks go to Josh Simpson and the FunnyOrDie staff, director/co-writer John Webb, producer Garth Mueller, and the entire cast & crew, without whom this film would not have been possible.

Please click on / vote "Funny" if you liked it.

Additional Note:
An extended cut of the episode is now up at director John Webb's Youtube account. It's about three minutes longer than the version that debuted on FunnyOrDie & shows off more of the excellent improvisational talents of the actors who portrayed Werner's ill-matched speed dating companions, as well as Heather Anne Campbell's inspired take as Bjork--a vivid portrayal that she recreates here, having originally brought it to life quite memorably as a member of the Groundlings Sunday Company. To all the actors who made room in their schedules in order to lend their talents to the film (and on short notice), I owe a considerable amount of gratitude. Their names and those of the whole cast & crew can be found just below the video player on this FunnyOrDie page.

Ken Block [Sister Hazel singer] Music Video Now Online

UPDATE: Now up on Youtube!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlhGKGd_1o4

The music video for Sister Hazel singer Ken Block's debut single "I Don't Mind", off his just-released first-ever solo CD "Drift", is now online as of today. You can watch the video exclusively on http://www.windowsmedia.com/mediaguide/RockGrabBag . The video will certainly pop up elsewhere on the web and TV in the next week.

[Note: if you have trouble viewing the video on a Mac, I suggest the FlipMac plug-in for Quicktime available here, which will enable your computer to play the video in Quicktime format.]

Director Tracie Laymon shot the video a few months ago in Los Angeles and I was lucky enough to appear in the video and meet Ken. Could not have been a nicer guy. Was so nice to meet a rock and roll success story (from my home state of Florida, that obscure no-man's land of huh? no less), that could have happened to a nicer human being. Check out Ken's solo site at http://www.blockville.com to see some of the stuff this guy has done with his opportunities: all the charity work and gratitude to he and his bands' fans. Sister Hazel had a bit of a monster hit in the '90s with the song "All For You", which I myself have (probably) butchered i karaoke a few dozen times. It was great to meet him and to be a part of of such a sweet song's video.

Special note: The painting visible below the window through which Ken pops through n the video is by my friend and fellow Florida Artist Jared Whitham, who himself resided & worked in Gainesville for the last few years before relocating to New York. It was nice to be able to facilitate that "collaboration": more paintings of Jared's are visible at http://jaredwhitham.com .

And be sure to check out the director's site at http://www.tracielaymon.com.

That's it! Now enjoy the music.

Metallica Inside You [live perfomance]

Metallica Inside You, by William Maier & Stirling Krusing (For Serious Reals)

Stirling was in town from New York with the band Flaming Fire, so I stole him for a night and we performed a few songs that we'd written back in January of '07 during my brief time spent in Gainesville. This was the last song of the 5 song set:
